Maximizing Several Cuts Simultaneously
Consider two graphs G1 and G2 on the same vertex set V and suppose that Gi has mi edges. Then there is a bipartition of V into two classes A and B so that for both i = 1, 2 we have eGi(A,B) ≥ mi/2 − √ mi. This answers a question of Bollobás and Scott. We also prove results about partitions into more than two vertex classes.
متن کاملCombination of Several Vision Sensors for Interpretation of Human Actions
In this paper we describe how the combination of several vision sensors can be used to track multiple human targets in a typical surveillance situation. The experimental system devised is made up of a xed camera and a binocular active vision system. The xed camera is used to provide the system with peripheral motion detection capabilities. The human activity is monitored by extracting several p...

Background: The predictive power of obesity measures varies according to the presence of coexistent measures. The present study aimed to determine the predictive power of combinations of obesity measures for diabetes by calculation of a linear risk score. Methods: Data from a population-based cross-sectional study of 994 representative samples of Iranian adults in Babol, Iran were analyzed. Me...
